July 31- Rhodes, Greece 12 – 11PM

This beautiful island has a rich history and one of my favorites because there is so much to do here.  The fortified harbor once held the ‘Colossus of Rhodes’, 7th Wonder of the Ancient World. It’s loaded with Crusader history in the Old Town. Enter the gates to walk the Street of Knights to Grand Masters Palace and Castle with great museum.

Rhodes is a large island. Head out to the incredible village of Lindos perched on a hill overlooking the blue Bay of St. Paul. Ascend by mule up to the Acropolis for spectacular views. Lindos is an artists’ haven where exquisite pottery and paintings can be found. In Rhodes New Town, the main street is filled with fun Greek venues. Stroll the shops and taste the sweet baklava at a sidewalk café.

More than any other Turkish seaside getaway, Bodrum has an unexplainable elegance, from the towns crowning castle to the glittering marina filled with million dollar yachts. Over a million tourists flock here for the trendy restaurants, hip bars, beach clubs, and affordable shopping. The lively bazaar offers everything from Turkish carpets to top designer wear.

Aug 2- Daylan River, (Marmaris) Turkey 8 AM – 4 PM

As part of the Turkish Riviera, you’ll find some of the most beautiful coastal territory in the Mediterranean. This unspoiled and lush town on the Aegan sea revolves around its river that flows through a national park. Its known for giant loggerhead sea turtles that breed here. You may see them if you swim famous Iztuzu Beach also called ‘Turtle Beach’. Enjoy a boat cruise along tall sheer cliffs that were cut from rocks in 400 B.C. Visit the ancient Lycian tombs of Sultaniye hot springs and mud baths and enjoy the freshest Turkish cuisines here.

Aug 3- Santorini, Greece Noon – 7:30 PM

With whitewashed villages clinging to cliffs rising a thousand feet out of the deep blue sea, Santorini is considered the most breathtaking of all islands. The island is a caldera formed by the biggest volcanic eruption in history and may be the fabled Lost City of Atlantis. Ascend the town by cable car or donkey and wander the winding alleyways filled with shops, churches, little wineries and tavernas. Book a cliff-side table for an unforgettable Greek lunch.

Options include Thira Volcano with hot springs, the excellent archeological site of Akrotiri, hiking the calders, swimming black sand beaches and more. Everyone should head by scooters or bus to the village of Oia which cascades down a craggy cliff. Here you can gaze at what’s reputed to be the world’s most stunning sunsets.

Aug 4- Hydra, Greece 12 – 10 PM

This gem in the Saronic Gulf is the only island that bans vehicles. No cars. No scooters. Just tiny marbled lanes, donkeys and gardens on a rocky coastline against a deep cobalt blue sea. The main village is as cute as they come. It looks like a painting of the old quintessential Greece. Enjoy people watching during a dinner of fresh calamari at the harbor. So colorful and laid back, I’ve always fantasized about living here.

Some beach bars have swimming platforms or you can ride a water taxi to the pebbled beaches. Walk the promenade up to the Spilia hill or take a horse ride up to the Monastery of Illias for great views. Some rent speed boats or visit the three museums. Whatever you chose, you won’t want to leave Hydra.
